Sneak Ops (IOS): Tips, Tricks & Strategy Guide

HUD/ Dashboard

Sneak Ops, Pause Button
Pause Button: 
Located at the top-right of the screen. Use this to pause the game, controls game settings, and other features.
Sneak Ops, Snap shot and share to social media button
Snapshot/share: 
Located at the top-right of the screen. Use this to take snapshots of your agent, and share the images with friends. 
Sneak Ops, Diskette Inventory
Disk Inventory: 
Located at the top-left of the screen. Displays the number of diskettes already collected.
Sneak Ops, Power Up Counter
Power-up Counter: 
Located at the top-left of the screen. This Counter will show up when you collect a power-up. 

 

Sneak Ops, Progress Meter

Progress Meter: 
Located along the right side of the screen. This meter indicates how far you have until the end of the level. 

BASIC MOVES 

 
Sneak Ops, Great Chief running Android walking
Walking/ Running: To walk aground the base, tap a free tile on the screen.
Tip: Holding down the tile longer than 1 sec will cause your agent to run instead of walking.
Sneak Ops Punching a Trooper
Punching: To punch, simply tap or hold on a trooper, and your agent will chase and punch him! Troopers tend to get knocked out for about 8-10 seconds. 
Sneak Ops Great Chief crouching against a wall
Crouching: When your agent is placed against a wall, in a tight space; they will automatically assume a crouching position until you move to another tile. 
 

Items 

Sneak Ops, Diskettes

 

Diskettes: Collect all of the diskettes in order to save progress in the game. 

Sneak Ops, Power-ups
Mystery Box: Open the mystery box to receive a power-up. Power-ups are selected randomly.
Sneak Ops, Oxygen Tank
Oxygen Tank: An oxygen storage vessel.

Power-ups

 
Sneak Ops, Magnet power-up
Magnet: Attracts all diskettes in the area to your agent. Magnet stays active for a duration of time. 
Sneak Ops, Laser Gun power-up
Laser Gun: Powerful enough to take down a super trooper. Laser Gun holds 3 rounds. 
Sneak Ops, Cardboard Box Power-up
Cardboard Box: A classic disguise from the Metal Gear Solid Series.
Sneak Ops, Sneakers Power-up
Sneakers: Significantly boosts running speed for 30 secs.
EMP: Knocks out all surveillance cameras for a duration of time.

ENEMIES 

Sneak Ops Diskettes, Gameplay Strategy
You have to avoid two kinds of guards throughout your missions: Troopers and Super Troopers. You'll often find them patrolling various parts of the facility. If you're lucky, some of the Troopers will be sleeping on the job. Take that opportunity to gather all the disks and get out of there!

Super Troopers: Punches don't affect Super Troopers, but laser guns will.  

Environment

Service Tunnels: Tunnels provide access to inaccessible areas of the stage. Blocked off tunnels are a great place to hide.

Checkpoint Clearance: You need 20 Diskettes to save at a checkpoint. 

Traps & Hazards

 
Sneak Ops, noisy floor
Noisy Floors: Enemies can hear steps
Sneak Ops, Surveillance Camera
Surveillance Cameras: Dodge by using the blind spot under the camera.
Sneak Ops, laser trip wire
Laser Beams: Standard Laser Tripwire system. The laser will stay on for a brief second, and then turn off for recharging. 
Sneak Ops, Poisonous Gas Room
Poison Gas Rooms: Poisonous agents used include hydrogen cyanide, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide.
